A new 11 week series will start Tuesday 4/14 to 6/23 with a maximum of 28 attendees.

Why Q Tango?
“Q Tango” was created as a LGBTQIA+ specific space that welcomes dancers of all sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as allies. Unlike traditional tango, which often follows a set pattern of lead and follow roles typically defined by gender, queer tango encourages flexibility in these roles, allowing anyone to lead or follow regardless of their gender. It’s is our hope to foster a more diverse and accepting dance community, celebrating individual expression and connection beyond traditional norms.
Both Sandy (queer) and Steve (ally) are dual role dancers and believe in this philosophy wholeheartedly.

Another fun deviation from traditional tango is that Q Tango will lean more towards alternative music rather than traditional music. It will lean more 60/40 alt/traditional during classes. We will explore the concept of classic tango techniques and expanding that to modern day music like blues, classical, electronic, etc.

ABOUT OUR style

Tango without limits:
music, style, and expression

At Q Tango – Tango Nexus, we honor tradition while embracing innovation. Most of our events feature a 50/50 mix of traditional tango music and alternative tracks, keeping the dance floor both classic and fresh. We primarily dance in the tango salón style, but we understand the importance of adapting to the space and the community—whether that means dancing milonguero in a crowded room, or exploring the freedom of nuevo. All styles and expressions of tango are welcome here.
